I'm building a McLux head with Downboy converter. I've read in other posts that different boards share/don't share a common ground. Not knowing exactly what that means, should I connect the cathode lead to the led and then to the grounding screw as in the McLux instructions or just to the led? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Do NOT connect the cathode lead to the ground screw. LED cathode out (LED-) on the Downboy must be separated from the ground.

In addition, the LED slug needs to be isolated from the heat sink. If the head is EN plated, the surface of the heat sink bulkhead in the head is electrically conductive and if the slug of the LED makes direct contact to the sink, you will have problems!
