Re: The first Melbourne CPF meet for 2008 - 29th March

Sure I'd come.

In my humble opinion, Warragul isn't really 'beautiful' at night in the way that some cities are but away from the light pollution you can really enjoy the stars and the night.
Paul is spot on, I might try to organise a trip to a local light builder, he makes some amazing stuff and is a bit shy of publicity but I could ask if I could bring a few friends out to his property which is isolated and dark.

Not really, it seems that Bell Bird is the choice so far.

Norm said that he prefers Jells to Bells:D

This weekend I'll be going to Lakes Entrance & Lake Tyers for fishing & prawning... hehe... time to see just how resistant some of my torches are to saltwater corrosion:caution::caution::eek:

Re: The first Melbourne CPF meet for 2008 - 29th March

At Lakes Entrance, I blew up my most prized Surefire possession: a MilkySpit modded M273-KL2 head, saltwater somehow mangaged to get inside, it leaked through the o-ring between the lens and the bezel. Unscrewing the bezel was a nightmare, but managed to in the end. Flushed everything with distilled water and dried thoroughly, reassembled everything and tested... no light! BUGGER! Disassembled the head again and discovered one of the delicate wires got severed... DARN...:ohgeez:gotta resolder it now.

Nothing much since last time,

I got my hands on a Malkov M60 and put it in a E2d body with a E2c adaptor with a 6P head, damn it's bright and it throws like nothing else.
Got a hold of the E-MT mod from YCLO/Koala
and a G2L

:D
:paypal:

So is it Jells Park?

I'll be keen to see how bright the M60 is...

So the time and venue is set:

SATURDAY 29TH MARCH 2008
BELL BIRD PICNIC AREA, YARRA BEND PARK, KEW
MEET @ 19.30HRS

I'll bring some snacks and soft drinks, perhaps even some beer...:drunk:

The weather forecast at this stage looks to be possible showers and a cool night. Anyhow the meet will still proceed as planned unless there is rain.

I'm so proud to announce our "special guest" Miss Universe 2004 for saturdays CPF meet, whom I met in 2007 at the Advance Sled Dog Challenge held at Dinner Plain Alpine Resort... yes... she has a soft spot for Siberian Huskies... especially the pups!

She doesn't know a thing about flashlights, but she's in the area, so she'll drop by...

Well now... I was not expecting that at all.

Re: The first Melbourne CPF meet for 2008 - 29th March

and it's not April 1st yet....

I'll bring my Mag 6D also just in case....

Just a Whoa from me Fusion M8

and the Malkov M60 is DAMN bright.... People reckon it's approx 235+ lumens out the front, the optic gathers all the light and lets it rip...

Have we got a big CPF Gift setup for this special guest? :p I might just have to donate my Winelight with the E-MT to this cause, thought i love the little tacker :mecry:

Re: The first Melbourne CPF meet for 2008 - 29th March

Anyone can get their hands on a Siberian Husky pup???? Anywhere from $1500-$2000...:broke:

That'll be the ideal tempter and gift for her to turn up...:D

Sorry koala, but I reckon a half-dead kitty on a ball of yarn just won't do...
