I've really been waiting for this light to arrive and after shinning it in the basement this morning i'm really impressed with the throw of this thing. I will have to wait till night for ultimate views but it dusts my Inova X5 and Arc aaa etc. It's a really nice pocketable size can use rechargeable batteries as well. The Inova X1 is going to have to be pretty good to compete with this light albeit at 1/3 the price. I've only been on cpf since March and it's amazing just how much brighter my lights have gotten. My newest L4 and McGizmo Pelican mod(I saw it a few months ago and got him to make me one) which out throws the L4. I'm running out of pockets to edc these lights in. It's amazing how bright this light is considering it's only powered by an aaa battery, nice work Kevin, anything worth having is worth waiting for.

I've been using mine at the hospital fairly often. Great hotspot and surrounding flood for such a small light. What I am most impressed with is the near perfect "day" light coloring. Not purple or blue, not green or incan yellow--just the color of daylight /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

Great for checking bandages at 0200 without blinding the sleep deprived patients.

Micro-madness,
Just ripped the box open and slapped it on my keychain, all I can say is wow! This thing is small and insanely bright for it's size. Nice intense hotspot with a flood-like corona. I am so happy with it I gave my wife my BB400 Q3L minimag for her recumbent (to be seen at night) All that performance running off a AAA battery, the brightest thing this side of lithium. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/buttrock.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/buttrock.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/buttrock.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/buttrock.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowdown.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/bowdown.gif

where will it all end, for the moment I no longer own any arc lights, sold them all in anticipation of the firefly L4 , 5 watt Pelican etc. My once beloved E2E is beginning to collect some dust now that I have the L4 and the McGizmo Pelican 5 watt mod, and it is something special.

Keith,

If your E2E is a McGizmo special and you decide you don't want it gathering dust anymore drop me a line /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

I can sympathize with your plight of too many lights and not enough pockets and I don't even have my Pelican 5W in hand yet. I will have to say that day in and day out the McLux is still the most viable light but I do have to trot out the Micro Illuminator and show everyone this great little light. Managed to have it fit in a Sebenza slip sheath to keep it from getting scratched when I throw it into my pocket. Right now I am trying to get up the courage to drill and tap a Pelican and install one of Don's brass adapters for the cell phone clip so that I can carry a PM6, McLux and the Micro Illuminator.

The ARCs are just right to throw in your trouser watch pocket for when you don't think you'll need a light but want one for just in case.

the E2E is the regualr Surefire version, once my edc pride and joy. I've found that size and brightness are the two most important factors for me. The L4 is slimmer than the Pelican M6 McModule and so I'ts the L4 and McLux for me. I'm not sure about the micro yet, I'd edc my tigerlight if it was small enough to comfortably fit into my pocket. For a while I was carrying two lights, leatherman Juice S2, and a Kershaw scallion and a Benchmade 690. Who was I kidding, probably nobody.

Mine arrived at lunch hour today. It's my first Luxeon light...impressive! I was worried that it wouldn't be much better overall than my X5 ( I lucked into an exceptional X5..very white). The Micro blows it away in every way. I was a little worried about the Brinkman as the basis for the light, we don't have them in Canada so I've never seen one. They are certainly nicer lights than Mags.

Kevin thanks for an amazing light!

Nowadays, I look at the solitaire, and just shake my head...

This thing has replaced the only thing I thought was unreplaceable: an ArcAAA...

Lambda....in the unlikely event I tip my canoe one day and the light gets an extended underwater experience how will it fare? Would there be any damage to the pill? Will a tear down and dry out have it good as new?

I think it would be ok.

No matter how water tight the Legend AAA might be, the secret for any light that's been dunked in water is to get the battery out as soon as possible if there is any water inside. The battery will cause galvanic corrosion and slowly eat metals away, exchanging them with minerals in the water.

With out a battery in the Micro, there's really nothing that can much get hurt by getting wet. But, wet for days/weeks of course would be a different story.
