Re: CountyComm AA LED...
I think it is very useful for what it is. You may like it.
If you expect drive nails sturdy or blindingly bright, don't bother. It is small, light, decent runtime and has several useful reflector modes. They say aluminum, but that is the outside shell (or maybe the plating on the plastic.) However, the plastic is reasonably sturdy. If you're hunting white walls you can find plenty of problems with the beams, but it is actually a useful flood (and the lantern mode is smoother then other LED lanterns I have. It's also dimmer, but....) As someone pointed out, it is large for a single AA light, the slight extra length and the extra diameter is from the nesting reflectors that allow the lantern and flashlight modes.
I bought one a couple years ago (UCO brand from a CampMor closeout sale) and my daughter has taken it to camp every year since. If you are somewhere it is really dark, it has useful amounts of light. (I think) they flip it to lantern to light their tent / tent cabins and to flashlight to walk to the facilities or hike at night. (It's not bright enough with urban light pollution, she traded it for a 2AA 1W Energizer LED after camp to use in civilization. (Offered her a Fenix L1T, but two modes is too complicated. The kid is killing me.))
I think it is well worth $12 if you have a suitable application. E.g. making a camp more comfortable as an extra and/or area light. (I wouldn't replace a "real"' flashlight with it, but it's not heavy and could serve as a little extra bit of comfort.)
