Up for sale today is a light I'm torn to part with, but I just find I haven't used. I received this light directly from the 'Milkyspit Labs', a few years back (I don't know the exact year).

This light is one of the famous Milkyspit 'Snake Eyes' builds - U2se. The platform is the Surefire Digital U2 Ultra. The snake eyes are dual Cree XRE's, with an awesome focused throw, and a neutral tint. The reflectors are 2 x McR16xp. It puts out 446 lumens on the highest setting. Of course there are 6 settings via the selector ring. It runs on 2 x primaries or 1 x lithium ion. Comes with the original MS tape. The U2 was brand new when it was sent to Milky, and I have only used the light a handful of times - I paid a good bit for it and think I've always been afraid to scratch it.

Price for the light is $208 $195. I will ship USPS Priority flat rate box, included in the price, which includes tracking. PayPal only, I will eat any fees. CONUS only. No trades. First 'I'll Take It' posted in this thread gets the light.

Thank you for looking.

Re: Milkyspit U2se 'Snake Eyes'

What are the battery choices?

Bill

The light runs on 2 x CR123; or 1 x Li Ion. I don't have any 17670's anymore but it did work with those, I just can't remember if I needed a small piece of foil at the positive terminal. I do have Keeppower 16650's and it works well with those, but I did need to put a small piece of foil for it to make contact. I only put one in to try it out, maybe the spring can be stretched or a magnet used. Here are some shots of the head and tube.

Re: Milkyspit U2se 'Snake Eyes'

Have you tried any older 18650s? My understanding was that some of the older Surefire tubes could fit 18650s, possibly w/out the PCB on the ends.

This is a piece of flashlight history right here!

No, haven't tried older 18650's. My newer ones are definitely too wide.

Dropped price to $195. Hard to figure what to ask for this, in its heyday it would have went for much more. I think this is a fair price.

Is there a lens in front of the two reflectors or a large lens covering the whole opening?

This is a classic light, from the days when Milky was 'active.' He made some awesome mods back then. I remember my U2by2. One of the best UI's ever in my opinion.

Good luck with the sale!

Yes many here now will never even have heard of him.

I must still own a half-dozen of his builds at least.

Nice to see these true pieces of CPF history continue to pop up from time to time.

Best with your sale.

I knew Milky. Went to the very first Photonfest at his house. Wish I knew what happened to him. Nice memories I have of the early days of LED's, McLux, ARC and the tint lottery!
