You can get the same effect with Nordic 3C or 3D lights.

The same design that allows you to screw multiple bodies together to make a very long light allows you to screw the endcap directly into the switch section.

A few button cells could be stacked into the tailcap hollow to drive a 3 or 4 Nichia PR bulb just to show it works.

Yah!!! I remember wanting to try that but finding there wasn't enough wall thickness to bore out for a CR2 and leave enough metal for threading. Never thought of peeling the CR2. Nice work!!!

it's not tought to hold, but it's a little difficult to turn on with only one hand...

Sorry to disagree Craig ( /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif ), but even the local QFC has CR2s. They do ask $7 each for them, though (I think I saw them for $4.50 a pop at the Martha Lake Walmart). Looks like Batterystation.com is the winner, so far.

If you have a car and can get outside the downtown Seattle area, you probably could get CR2s. But if you're in a wheelchair and are pretty much stuck in the city center, you're S.O.L. on those. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jpshakehead.gif
I haven't checked the two QFCs on Capitol Hill yet, but they aren't available at the local Rat Shack, Bartells, Right-Aid, Safeway, Fred Meyer, or Rainier Hardware.
There's no Wall Mart or K-Mart anywhere nearby though, so I can't check them. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Try a camera store or the camera section of Rite-aid. Lots of small cameras use CR2's.

That should be within your range, however I haven't idea what their prices are like on batteries. Its also kind of funny that Bartell's didn't have them, go figure. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thinking.gif Good luck to ya'.

I'm pretty certain I can get to the Kit's Camera downtown. I think I got an AC adapter for my Olympus digital camera there about a year and a half ago. But I don't know the prices on CR2 cells there either.

Maybe I ought to go down there tomorrow just to see if they have CR2 cells and check the prices of them. I have a flashlight that uses CR2s, but haven't had a source of them so I never ran any battery tests on it. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/jpshakehead.gif
