i was cutting down a mag to be a miniminimag, but i cut too much of the darn thing off! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/mecry.gif

deciding that dispite being too short, it's probably still usable...so i cut it down even more, bored it out a little bit, and threw in a peeled cr2.

the endcap was cut down as short as possible. the cr2 was peeled to fit inside without completely boring out the threads, but as such, it can electrically conduct thorught the body, so a kroll is out of the question anyway.

NICE /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

the miniminiminimini looks really cute, isn't it?
can you cut shorter than that, roth? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif

i could if i had a shorter battery /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/naughty.gif

it's just a tad longer /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif
maybe a quarter of an inch?

i don't have any unmodded arcs, so it's hard to tell...

and where the heck have you been!?!!???!

Did you mean to say, it can't conduct through the body?

If not, why not?

What is a CR2?

The outer surface of a battery (in my limited experience) is connected to +, so you can't use the flashlight body for ground path when the insulation is removed. So what DO you use for ground path, Roth? Edit: Uh /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif is the battery reversed?

Holy Crap!

Nice work Roth /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Wilkey

PS. I wanna see a ultraminimicromag that is just head!

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/ooo.gif TThat looks NICE!!!

Any chance that you could bore it out enough to fit an unpeeled CR2?

Roth Roth Roth, can you go any smaller? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif What will you think of next?

Roth,

Good job! I have found that mistakes are often opportunities that Murphy brings to an open mind. Keep up the the good work!! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Roth, you have proven my sig line is correct! Very cool, is there any possibility to insert a plastic sleeve and use a smaller diameter power source? Excuse any blatant ignorance if the answer to my question is obvious, I am not very versed in mods or batteries.

TSG /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Whats next, a button cell? /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

On the miniminiminimag isn't it hard to turn it on?

Roth...
Very nice work.
I heard you mention it a few times, and kinda knew what to expect. But to actually see it is a different story.
LOL... it makes the head look huge. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif
Keep it up Roth. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Roth,

/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif Now turn the head down to just save the fem 4-start threads and make a sleeve with a front shoulder to capture a lens and -05 (full dia) to press over it. It should end up under 7/8" dia. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

shankus, the negative can conduct through the body. since i had to bore it out, it means that there is no annodyzing to act as an electrical insulator.

ail, what kind of batteries are you unsing? the outside on this is negative... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon3.gif

lucien, not if i want to have threads /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif
the threads are pretty thin as it is, any more boring would mean that i would need to make the tailcap press-fit. and that is something i would really rather avoid.

tsg, i don't see why that wouldn't be possible /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/icon3.gif

button cell? i dunno... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
and yes, it is a little hard to turn on /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/frown.gif

larry, i plan to /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif
i'm going to wait until i can secure an annodyzer though. im going to finish some stuff i'm working on, and have them all habk'ed /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

kiessling...yes it is /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

That thing looks like a pencil where you have to use your finger to push it farther inside the pencil sharpener; so when you get it back out it's just a "nub" with an eraser on one end and a lead at the other. You can't pencilfight with those things, but if you could, you'd win because it could never become broken. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

That's definitely a MiniMiniMiniMag. It's all head and no barrel, just like a flashlight ought to be. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

My Duracell and Cotech AA alk have positive bodies, while Hi-Watt Heavy duty AA alk has negative body.

All of the Ns, AAs, AAAs and even the dead C I just peeled seem to have (+) body cylinders. I guess that goes for the whole alkaline cell family. On the other hand, 123s and CR2 liths have negative body cylinders, and "peeling" them in most single cell applications shouldn't be a problem. (Just $.02)
