Minor problems with Foxfire.

Candle Power Forums

Help Support Candle Power:

Then I was wrong, maybe I heard they were thinking about tabs but only in slightly updated IE browser version only for XP.
without competition, microsoft gets lazy and just does enough to sell its next version of windows etc.

Firefox was just sitting here idle tonight and drawing between 10 and 40 percent of the CPU time. No idea why. The site I was on was tvguide.com.

sometimes flash animations or large animated GIFs take cpu power because they run regardless. And many sites like to have a fancy flash Logo etc, I just use the adblock extension to kill those buggers.

Macromedia flash is running in that animated window on top of the tvguide page. If you cover it up with another window, the CPU utilization drops to zero. The same thing happens if you make the browser window small enough so you can scroll the flash off the screen.

Flash stuff is neat but too many sites use it wrongly making things take forever to load. some sites wont let you on their site without going through the *flashdance* first... you have to start loading their flash intro to get to the page that allows you to skip loading it if they let you that is.
