Hello guys!

I just bought my first AAA LE Arc and have mixed feelings about it...

I have the LE model that is supposed to be the best but find several things that not meet this standard.

1-. The body is T3 HA looks greenish and the bezel looks brownish in a very noticeable difference, did yours come this way also? it matches my E2 though

I can live with this, since it will be used a lot.

The one thing that bothers me is that my photon outshines it, and has a less desirable green corona and blue spot, yes a true blue spot right in the center. it is nowhere near as white as my photon or Eternalight or 2000 or Innova or Pal or other led lights I have. Wasn`t this light supposed to be brighter?? and have more higher rank leds?, I don´t know what to think of it, would you think maybe I got a lemmon? would you return it knowing that the replacement would take months to arrive? It´s just that the greenie was a turnoff, I like the light though and certainly will get another one.

What do you think?

Alex

I think the photon is 3v and the ARC is 1.5v so the photon should be brighter. The different color is normal with HAIII finishes. Don't know what to tell you about the color. My LE is white with a hint of green and the ARC Standards are white with blue. Sounds like you got a normal ARC AAA LE to me.

Someone said this once before and it is so true:

So your Photon is brighter than your Arc AAA?
Well leave them both on for 15-30 minutes, that will take care of the problem!

The photon will only run brightly (because it's being driven harder) for an hour or so and them will burn at about 20% of it's original brighness. The Arc will hold it's brightness for much longer (~5 hours) since it's partially regulated. So initially the photon is the winner but only until 15-20 minutes goes by, then Arc is the winner for another 4-5 hours.

As far as being green, well, the S1 rank LED is less blue (green), not more white.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">I believe that the ARC AAA has a DC to DC converter, that delivers full power to the LED (it is either 3 or4.5 V). That is one of the cool things about the ARC, is that it has advanced electronics so that it can use a common AAA battery.

I agree that the LE would be brighter during longer periods of time, but how about the greenish light with the blob of blue in the center? I have seen cheap photon knockoffs that are whiter more uniform in color and for what I read the higher rank leds are suposed to be more White-bluish a color that I prefer over green everytime.

When will the new batches of LE´s be out? I guess I´ll keep this one on my keychain and wait for a better one to come by. Maybe I was expecting too much for all the nice reviews and photos of beamshots I see. You guys have spoiled me

I´m sure a few years back wouldn`t have noticed it.

But they are still very nice lights and will buy me another one.

Had my LE a little over a year now, blue center-greenish corona, but I only notice it inside on a white wall. Outside it's brighter than anything else its size for far longer. Almost too bright for some uses!

Mine is the same - blue center/green corona. Not too keen on the color myself. My CPF version is a uniform bluish tint and I like it a lot more.

But I still carry a Photon or Inova on my keychain - the're just so freakin' tiny. Plus the HA finish on the ARCs wear away the red handles of my swiss army knife. The Arc turns pink in my pocket...
