Mixing LEDs to create efficent high CRI light.

I'm wondering what combos of coloured and cool white LEDs can create a nice high CRI beam around 5000 K. I know this has been done before with the McG red-eye. Should I try and find the greenest XP-G and add a red XP-E to it? Or just find some nice and pure white ones and add green and red? Anyone know what emitters Cree use in their fixed lighting thingys?
 
I recently built a 3xMCE light using WC, WH, and 5A tinted emitters. I already had the WH and 5A, so I decided to continue the trend for the third emitter.

Now that its finished, I have to look closely to tell the difference between the WH and WC emitters, but the 5A emitter is very obvious.

Outdoors, the high-cri is nice. The light is mostly cool, with just a hint of the 5A shining through. That is until you cover the 5A emitter with something, then the difference is very noticeable.

All in all, I'm glad I went with 3 different colors...
 
You could get in on Tecknocowboy's groupbuy in the market place for high-cri p4's.

I put one of my high cri p4's from the last batch on a star then added a Q35A in parallel beside it (literally, on contact pads of same star). It is a very pleasing combination.
 
The thing is, I want the efficency of the cree without sacrificing the CRI in a single light with a relativly high cct.
 
Does using a red led pass R@ndom's stipuation not to take an efficiency hit on a single emitter?
The requirement to use cree is another stumbling point. luxeonstar.com (Ontario company) sells rebel 100's binned by 1000k temp. If you look at whitelumentesting the rebel 100 preforms very well during the spec'd drive currents. If we ignore the cree stipulation, you could make an endor start (3xRebel 100's together on a 20mm star) containing a 105lumen@350ma 3000k, 105lumen@350ma 4000k, 105lumen@350ma 5000k.

Check modded b/s/t, I think someone was selling a triple mc-e warm->cool binned, you could ask about colour rendition.
