I have a couple of projects on the go at present.
Namely a Larryk and a 400 Watt Blitz conversion.
I am going to use RC CAR Lipo batteries.

My question is this.
Are there any downsides, or things I really need to be aware of when using these lipo's
in this way?

The larry K draws around 20A and the Blitz/Lightforce mod just over 11Amps.
I chose the batteris specifically for their High current rating 25C(25x5aH=125 A continuous).
And because I can match the required voltage to the lamps I am using almost exactly.

Is there anything I am missing?

Will I need regulators at all?

I know I will need a charger. Any ideas for a charger that will charge a

-5000mah 10S 25C (37v)
-5800mah 8S 25C (29.6v)
-5000mah 5S 20C (18.5v)

There are a number of hobby chargers on hobby king such as the turnigy 10xc and fatboy 8 that will do large packs and wont break the bank... I have the accucell 8 from hobby king and its genuine and works well.

Thanks for that jmpaul. I have already ordered a battery and charger from them.

Any other idea's, cautions, or just go for its?

I am basing my work on many of the threads I have looked through here.
I may not beat my PH40 as a package, but I still want to write my name on the moon

If you're going to use the 8S battery to power the LarryK, you stand a real good chance of blowing the bulb. 8 x 4.2 = 33.6. Yes, there will be some sag but probably not enough to get you below the insta-flash point of that bulb, especially without a soft-start device. You could charge it to only 4 Volts per cell but you'll be lucky to get 4-5 minutes of run time total, most of that at less than desirable brightness. You should really look into JimmyM's regulator specifically made for the LarryK.
