Scored a couple of nice lights at Goodwill today. :grin2: The first one is a rather unique camping/hurricane lantern made by Energizer. It's water resistant and is powered by a standard 6V lantern battery. It has a fresnell lens not unlike a lighthouse and casts a very bright 360 deg. flood. It is well made and has a really rugged handle. $1.00.:sssh:

The others are a father and son pair of generic maglites. They are both like new and came in a good looking aluminum case. They are focusable and both have spare bulbs in their encaps. Ironically, they have somewhat better machining and reflector throw than the original maglites that I own. Their beams have less artifacts. Mine for $2.99/both in the box.

Another happy thrift store find to add to my collection.;)

I got this one at Goodwill too! It didn't work and all it needed was the SLA battery to be plugged back in! $2.99

And I thought I was the only smart one that scoured the Goodwill stores!

That's a really rugged light Carbine! What's the brand name?

I've found my share of lights at thrift stores. Of course, most of the lights are inexpensive plastic contemporary lights such as the kid oriented 2xAA lights. However, I have obtained a Kel-Lite, 2 poly stingers with their charger and one working battery stick, and Captains and Sportsman and similar. I have also obtained numerous plastic lanterns. Sometimes people toss these lights as soon as the batteries and/or bulbs are used up from what I can tell.

It doesn't have a name branded to it. Only a sticker saying 10,000,000 Candle Power. I actually don't have any room for it and want to sell it for $21 shipped. Well worth it for anyone who doesn't have a way to turn off their street lights at night!

wish I had a decent thrift store around here, the stores here either looks like the stuff even goodwill wouldn't take for donations or have gone "antique" and prices are through the roof.
