Hello. I am currently running a 20w 12v mr11 powered by a 3s 11.1v lipo but if i was to get a 6v 10w mr11 and run it off a 2s 7.4v lipo, would it be brighter. This is for my cycle light so have some size/weight constraints. The 3s lipo 2200mah is as big as I can get in the pouch, thank you.

Most of MR11/MR16 bulbs have designed life of 4000 hours and if your 12 volt version is one on these, you will need 5 cells (18.5 volt) to really shine.

2 cells (7.4 volt) won't push the 6 volt version to hot wire style point and 3 cells (11.1 volt) will most likely instaflash the 4000 hour version 6 volt bulb.

By the way, welcome to hot wire world.

Thank for the reply, I think I shall stick with the 20w/12v 3s lipo set setup. As stated a 6v/10w overdriven to 7.4 probably wont outshine it.
