MrBulk,

I am always looking for an excuse to buy another flashlight, so I have the best of intentions in these questions. I have read through all of the McModule threads, but unfortunately most of the dialog is bantering, inside humor, icons, and acronyms - very confusing. So, can you please sum up what you are selling (at this point in time)?

Are you selling an entire flashlight, or a reflector, regulator, and LED?

Do I buy my own Pelican and then swap out the reflector for the one you are selling?

Do I need to buy a different tail switch?

What rank LED are you providing now?

How much does it cost?

And, one more question: The SF L4 is almost too long to carry without drawing attention to myself. Isn't the Pelican even longer?

Thanks for your time,

Chuck

The package contains a replacement for the lamp assembly and the reflector. You remove the stock LA and screw in the McModule (which includes the emitter and the BB750 regulation circuit), then remove the stock reflector (and it's spring) and replace that with the cut-down reflector. You supply the Pelican M6. The stock tailcap works fine, though the clickie kit from flashlightlens.com is much better IMO.

As to availability and bin codes, I'll leave that to the producer, but from what I understand the W3Vs are all gone.

Sizewise its slightly bigger than an L4. The stock PM6 includes a very nice belt holster. It's very obvious, but rides comfortably.

What Brad-alike said is pretty much what I would have said, except to address the issue of availability. There are no guarantees until I get more parts, on which one poor soul is working feverishly right now.

There was a slight premium on the W3V versions since that same premium was passed along to me; however, there was a significant savings in the machined parts that offset the Luxeon cost on the first run as well. Thus the price will remain the same if this next run is to materialize.

But please bear in mind two things Chuck:

1) you must have e-mailed me already to be on the next distribution list, otherwise you will be around #60 and I will be making 50

2) although having the same first name as mine might prod me to do something (just kidding!)....

Chuck, I thought I might as well add that the Pelican head and body are slightly wider as well, without the pocket clip.
The Pelican head 1 1/4" surefire head 1"
Pelican body 15/16" surefire body 13/16"
Pelican length 5 1/4" surefire length 5 1/16"

Thanks everyone for the size comparison between the Pelican and the L4. I really appreciate it.
