I actually only noticed this light because it was in one of the banner ads here, but it sounds pretty impressive. Never heard of "mrlite" before though.

Basically its an XR-E Q5 1xAAA light HAIII for 14.80 with free shipping. It has too many modes and they are in the wrong order and it is a good amount bigger than most AAA keychain lights, but regardless it sounds pretty impressive for such a low price.

So does anyone know anything about this light or manufacturer? I couldn't find any info on either

Relatively New , noticed it being available mid year or so ..
Several different models out there , lightake.com has several models listed , dont look to be cheap , but as there new ???? [ Dont appear to be re-brands ] ,
some one has to get there feet wet .

I've had a KC-05 for about a week now. I couldn't be happier with the light for $15.00 including shipping. It is a lot brighter than I expected it to be. Maybe not the 180 advertised lumens, but almost as bright as my ITP A1 which is 190 lumens. The light came in a tin box with a manual. Worked perfect out of the box. A heck of a lot brighter with a rechargeable AAA than an alkaline. Head is easy to twist with one hand and the beam is kind of a neutral warm white to my eyes. It does have 2 modes, one which is the standard mode with 5 settings, and the "professional" mode(as they call it) with 9 different settings that you access with a special turn/twist from the low mode on standard setting. I got the red one and have it on my keychain and so far, no nicks or scratches, and hasn't failed me yet. One cool thing about the light, is that you can order it with the settings or modes that you prefer. I did not know this when I ordered mine, but after having it in my hands, I doubt that I would change the order of modes as that is not that important to me. All in all, I'm pleased for $15.00. Any other questions, please feel free to ask.

Can you compare it size wise to any other lights or perhaps some beamshots?

Thanks for your input though.

Its funny, that tin box did stick out in my mind for some reason even though its completely irrelevant. Looked nice though.

That is clever marketing for you, entering a crowded market and adding a nice box and YES it did appeal to me as well,I am a big sucker for stuff like that as they make impressive gifts if nothing else.

From what Daniel at Lightake said recently they can't re-program the modes on this particular model (but they can on other MrLite models).

I bought one to try out (they are cheap), but it won't displace the AAA Matatacs and ITPs in my regular rotation. I found the multiplicity of modes all a bit too much (I prefer a simpler UI), but the body is a pretty pink and it is quite bright on high. Trouble is the UI is too complex to give it away to a non-flashaholic, and I suspect that most flashaholics won't like the UI.

Thanks for your insight. I will definitely have to keep it in mind though.

I asked Daniel for a 3 mode light in THIS thread and asked Richard from MrLite why it is not possible atm in THIS . The driver is glued in the now available version, but they will make a new version with unglued electronics and custom modes like H/M/L.
