Tonight it was SRO (Standing Room Only) at Christmas Mass. So we settled into a corner of the church, and my wife, son and daughter used the heat registers as chairs. To help keep my son occupied during the hour-long Mass I loaned him my Mule.

He played with it the whole time. Every now and then I'd see a flash out of the corner of my eye- he was holding it under his jacket to see the tritium and to turn it on and off. He was so cute!

The only issue: I couldn't get it back from him until after dinner. :)

Sorry for the bad pic- I wanted to snap some pics of the kids without being noticed. This one shows him holding the light and some money for the offering.

Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!

Thank you for the kind words PhotonWrangler! He is quite a little gentleman. I couldn't be any prouder of him. :)

He has sensory integration disorder, so sitting is a very crowded room with all the noise and bright lights has always been a challenge for him. For the past few years it has been a real challenge to get him to relax and not be effected by all the external stimuli in any setting with lots of people or other distractions. This past year he's made incredible strides in his occupational and different physical therapies. Hence, this Christmas he sat through the entire Mass, and the McGizmo (he calls it "the flashlight from my friend in Hawai'i") helped him to focus on something when the external stimuli got to be too much.

He'd catch me watching him now and then. He'd crack the biggest, cutest smile I've ever seen, and then go back to playing with his favorite little flashlight. It was precious. :)

Thanks Ray! :) Happy Holidays to you and yours.

I'm just playing for a little while longer until it is time to help Santa! :D

And he has a watch on as well. Happy New Year!
Great catch. :) He learned how to tell time a few months ago, so there's no more cheating on bedtime... "Aw, daddy, it is only 7:45. I have 15 minutes left..."

The Mule gets his "stamp of approval.":D
