Iam looking for a multi-tool with a crescent wrench built in to it. Is the SpydeRench my only choice or are there others to choose from?

For what it's worth, I've carried a Spyderench since they first came out and love it. The wrench part is a little loose but I've never had problems with it and have gotten more comments than I can remember.

I think the SpydieRench is the only one available with a crescent wrench.

I have also found a couple of different versions by Maxam. Either the Maxam Pliers/Wrench Plus or the Maxam Wrench Plus. MSRP of the first $35.95 with a street price of under $20.00. The street price of the other is under $14.00.

Maxam Pliers/Wrench Plus

I started looking at a tool like this again and I am wondering about the Maxam Pliers/Wrench Plus. Is anyone here familiar with Maxam Tools? How about the Maxam Pliers/Wrench Plus specifically? I have found it for $19.77 with free shipping at a place called The Multi-Tool Source. Their webpage is www.multitoolsource.com Has anyone here ever dealt with this company?

Crescent Wrench Multitools

Now that I have taken the time to look closer at these, it looks like the Maxam Pliers/Wrench Plus; the Spannerman Multi-tool; and the Gentle Giant Survival Tool with Crescent Wrench are different names for the same tool. With that in mind it looks like the following are choices for Multi-Tools with Crescent Wrench:

-Gerber Cool Tool
-SpydeRench
-Maxam PWP/GGSTwCW/Spannerman
-Multi Tool Wrench from Cutlery To Go
-Ultima-Tool Multi-Tool

Re: Crescent Wrench Multitools

I have used a Gerber Cool Tool for many years. It's fantastic but is a specialized bicycle tool. The crescent jaws are thinned so as to fit bike wheel axle nuts. The main body is a bike chain tool. The included socket is a 14/15mm for removing main axle nuts. The allen wrenches fit the main bike sizes of 4,5,6, & 8mm.
