That girl needs to learn some major life lessons. In her mind it was acceptable to take her eyes off the road and swerve an entire lane for the sake of downloading a $#@ ringtone. Since when is the transient pleasure of a ringtone more important that someone's life?

The thread title is a little misleading. Running over and killing someone with a car is not murder, unless you had the specific intent to do them harm.

If you killed someone while taking your driving test, they would not let you get your licence. But if you already have your licence, you can run people over, drive reccless, drive drunk and still keep your licence.

If everyone had to take their driving test again tommorow, how many people would still be driving(legally) the next day?

One case in Australia where a school teacher while doing a reversed parking mistaken the accelerator as a break and crushed one of her student - a 7 year old boy to dead. His mother was ahead of him, pushing the younger brother in the pram. His family is totally devastated and has not recovered from the ordeal after two years. In fact I don't think they will ever recovered from this. The teacher only received a warning and a small fine. She is an overseas teacher and had since left the country.
