Well, my story is not as dramatic as my title sounds, but they really did come in handy. I had one of my few flashaholic moments on Friday... A little over a week ago I finally decided to pull the trigger on my dream TV(Mitsubishi 73" DLP wide screen HDTV). After a couple of days of having this beast I noticed a 3x1 inch dead spot on the lower left corner of my screen. This past Friday, two service tech's came by to fix my baby armed with some very weak flashlights. One guy had a Dorcy LED light with weak batteries and the other guy had a mini mag that was begging for fresh batteries as well. These poor unenlightened souls were having a very difficult time seeing the screws on the back panel that needed to be removed. Fortunately for them, I happened to have a 27LT-S and a LuxV 27LT laying around just itching to be used. Needless to say they were blown away by the output of these two torches as my brother in-law and I lit up the back of the TV for them. It was a proud moment for me, I finally got to use my lights for something other than blinding my wife and dogs!:grin2: I told this story to my wife when she got home that evening and I got one of these looks,. Anyway,I thought I would share this little story with my fellow flashaholic's, you all are the only ones that would truly appreciate this story.:lolsign:

GReat, great....

Now, how about some pics of your rig. :lolsign:
Congrats on the purchase !

Cool, I had a similar experience last Friday with my Ti Cr2 Ion XR-E. I stopped by the liquor store to get some wine on my way home from work, but the owner came out to my car in the parking lot before I got out. He told me that the severe wind that we were having had knocked out the power, and I could only make a purchase if I had cash.

No problem, I said, and into the store I went with my keychain drawn. Needless to say that everyone in the dark shop was blown away by the light, and I found the wine I was looking for to boot! My first "real" use of the light helped me damage some more liver cells!!

Great story. Its interesting to see normal people getting all excited when they are subjected to a proper flashlight. The WOW factor combined with the aesthetics of current offerings makes buying such expensive lites/tools justifiable. My wife has now appreciated these flashlights only when she had to rely on it when we lost our daughter afew days ago on a resort. I brought along both my L1 and E1L. We were having a family gathering at the resort and along the way realised she was missing. We looked for her in the main resort block but to no avail. I then passed my wife the E1L and told her to look around the perimeter whilst i look around the other half of the beach. As usual my daughter (being a special child) went wandering off as she was bored and was later found in front of my mom's apartment. All was well. That night she finally complimented the performance of the E1L and her only comment was too much heat.........I think I'll get her a nice chic lite one of this day.

As requested, here's a pic of my new baby... The TV itself is 70" wide and 45" tall, when sitting on the stand, it sits 70" from the floor to the top of the TV. For scale, I had my rat terrier and 65 pound catahoula sit in front of it.

Last night I installed one of those TV arms high on a wall at our beach house. The lighting in the room wasn't good enough for task lighting, so I took out my 27LT-S.

The ladder has a plastic tray that holds tools, cords, etc. I found a hole that was just a little larger in diameter than the flashlight's body, so I could angle the beam to light up my work area. It was perfect. I was able to install the arm, install the TV and cable box. The flood pattern was just perfect, with just enough light to illuminate my work area.

Great TV BTW! :)
