My MaxLight 7x900:

Body: aluminium D16T anodizing and paint
LED: MCE
Driver: hipFlex (TaskLed.com)
Accum: 4S2P. 8 unprotected 18650 with 2 PCB for 4 serial connection. 14.8 V 5 Ah
Near 6 hours on max power.
Weight in air 890 g, in water 360 g. max diam 69 mm. bodies diam 51 mm.

This is beamshot standart reflector for MCE from dealextreme.

my auto light (60 W Osram) left vs MaxLight

And I do addintional reflector with buildin 26mm aspheric lens. With it beam angle 60 deagree:

Distance 1 m.
In center: 1380 Lux, 300 mm from center 1200 Lux, 550 mm from center 800 Lux.
The reflector may be changed for few minutes:

For additional protection of flashlight I do proterors:

I did test for pressure in selfmade barocamera and find crashpoint. Crashpoint is 17 atm (170 meter)

Lens was crashing at deep 170 meters.
All connections of body are self-tight - the more deeply the more tightly.

If change lens (form flashlightlens.com) on policarbonat 4-8 mm I think crashpoint move over 200 meters.
Now with my lights people are spearfishing and diving 50-60 meters.

With 52 mm aspheric lens (from kaidomain.com) crashpoint is 240 meters.

Borofloat lens 2 mm (for spearfishing) and 6.5 mm (for diving).

I finish rebuilding of my MaxLight 7x900. Its named MaxLight v.2 now

Main target of rebuilding: small weight and more comfort switch.

New reed switch:

Can you explain that last statement? I thought that when using an aspheric lens on a dive light it's couldn't be the lens exposed to the water and had to have a air space on both sides.

I'm pretty sure that when you focus it under water, it will not be focussed out of the water. The mechanism maybe allows to get it in focus for both conditions though.
The reason is that the refractive index of water is different from the refractive index of air, which causes the lens to focus the light differently. If you search my posts, you can find a post where I made a simulation.
