My new laser project. . .

I'm planning to make a fun project with my wicked extreme40-50mW.
i'm going to purchase a midrange-longrange sniper scope (the ones with a crosshair), and carefully attach my laser pointer to it so they line up. . . what i expect to happen is i can use the scope and "aim" at some distance objects like a balloon hanging up the sky, and "fire" my laser at it. i'm thinking of using the remote trigger switch for my pointer.
my problems are:

1. how do i attatch my laser pointer to the scope
2. what kind of scope should i use

Please rethink your post. Given the recent activity on the board and in the media using phrases like "fire, sky target, sniper rifle, laser" is done in poor taste at the very least.

I have harsher words, however I feel they would be breaking a rule or seven here.

my current idea for attatching the 2 bodies together is to tie them together, but i don't think its stable enough. .

Yeah, not to sound like an asshole or anything, but considering all that we've been talking about around here lately, it sounds like probably one of THE single most... moronic idea you could have, with the exception of saying that you want to go out and start shining it at planes./ubbthreads/images/graemlins/confused.gif

Use more than 3 molecules to think about things before posting - that's like me telling this story about how I took down a sesna with a GLP-III from 4 miles away and how awesome it was. *Which never happened, I don't have a GLP-III*

Point being, everyone has questions, some don't mind answering however you have to realise that there are some touchy subjects and I think you were on the brink of walking all over it and didn't even notice.

ah! i get it. . . just to clear things up abit. . . i won't be using this laserscope on anything except paper, dart board, and balloon. i won't even do it in public where there are people other then me.
