Hey folks here's my new "M4" that I put together, It has the KT1 Turbo head with an MN61 350 lumen LA, Leef 4x123 body that I just got from LH and a clicky tailcap that's SF part but I can't remeber it's #. It's a great light and has introduced me to a whole new level of lumens! rechargeable batts are next on the list, here it is:

Nice. Do the primaries rattle in the tube at all? What rechargable setup can you do to run a MN61?

Thanks guys! The 123's do move a little but not enough to make much racket, but more than say an M3 or M3T. I contacted Lighthound and John recommended the 2x18650 setup, but only for the MN60 which is the lola for the M4, he said the MN61 was so high drain rechargeables shouldn't be used. Kind of a bummer too, that MN61 is bright!

You should try the MN16 with 2x18650's if they will fit in your body. If not, just throw a couple 17670's in instead. That will make for a nice and bright rechargable set-up. Mine comes in at over 400 lumens out the front on fresh cells :grin2:

Now all you need is a LED Turbo Tower Module and you may never buy another lamp again.

Njoy...

I bought a Turbo head, with just that in mind. Milky will soon be put to work on it. ;) :)

Nice M4gery you got there, trouble! I'd have to go with 18650's in that for the GFL's. :)

18650's are next on the list for it, the MN16 is the M3T hola correct? How are you bumping up the output that much? I was just going to run the M4 lola MN60 for 225 lumens, what's the secret?

The MN16 puts out 250 lumens at mid point on 3 123 cells. It is much higher at initial turn on. The rechargeables hold voltage much better, and on good 18650's it is putting out somewhere between 350 and 400 lumens initially.

What kind of run time do you get with that set up?

Depends on the cells, (which 18650 version), but typically 30-40 minutes.

The 18650's I usually run are unprotected 2400's, good for about 35 minutes, though I seldom run them more than 30 since they are unprotected.

Outstanding! That's good info, are all SF la's measured that way?

Yes. When you run a Surefire LA on li-ion, those numbers go up even more as they sag less under load....hence why I am seeing ~400 lumens out the front on fresh cells. It will actually hold that 400 for about the first 5min, then drops to about ~350 and will hold that for another 10min or so. Then it starts steadily dimming from there. Get that MN16, and yes it's the M3T's HOLA.....you won't be dissapointed. It won't run as long as an LED module, but it sure as heck will spank one as far as output goes....:grin2:
