Hi All,

I don't really know why I stopped by. I was just thinking about my most trusted and reliable EDC equipment, which inevitably brought me to my venerable Arc-P.

I bought this flashlight maybe 3 1/2 or 4 years ago. It has been in the change pocket of my jeans for every single one of those days..... almost. I actually lost my Arc-P for a year in my front lawn. After a year of winter snow, sub-zero temps, summer lawn mowing and the rest of what the northeast outdoors can bring, I finally found my Arc-P. I was using a metal detector to find my property stakes, and the detector found my Arc. The battery still worked and everything.

This flashlight has seen daily use and still works great. I even use it for night fishing, where it's been dropped into 3 or 4 feet of water many times. The Arc just won't die!!!!

One question though. Is there any advantage to new model Arc-P?

I've only just put an order in for my first Arc-P AAA, this story, and the one about the spelunking Arc lost in a cavern and the fact that so many CPFers whose opinion I respect carry and rate this little 'effer make me think..........

what a bright decision to buy one but more so what a dumbass decision to wait for so long.

Sorry Buzz, this helps you none:eek:.

Hey buzzbait, yeah, I think there is an advantage to the new model Arc-P. That would be the brightness increase, that would be about it though!! Doug:)

You certainly can't go wrong with the new AAAP. My friends & family have a bunch of these babies in service. I've heard of and seen all sorts of rough use, accidents, and even a little abuse - and nothing but praise for these lights. Having the added brightness from the new AAAP-DS could be a benefit in some situations. Check out the LED MUSEUM'S review.

hi Buzzbait, welcome!!

if you Arc AAA is ~4years old the new one will be plenty brighter with no loss in runtime

Yup!

Welcome to CPF! Why don't you stay a while :)

Great story.

And the shape of the head has been redesigned so as to make it easier to slip into a pocket!

Looks nice eh?

I'd buy another Arc AAA-P. Never get a standard...get Premium every time :)

For how long they run on a single AAA, whilst sacraficing little brightness, they're great.
