A couple of months ago, I started this thread: http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?t=199522
You guys provided a lot of good advice, and I sent away for a Myo XP. It is certainly serving my needs nicely.
While messing with the flip-up diffuser, it occurred to me that if I could pop that one out and replace it with another flip-up apparatus with a red lens, this would do wonders for my night vision.
Do you guys think this is doable? Does Petzl have something like that?

an interim solution would be to purchase a $3.95 Mini-Maglite accessory kit. besides a lanyard and some colored filters, it also comes w/a nice AA barrel clip that works on many AA and some CR123A lights to permit hands-free operation by clipping it to a ballcap visor/brim.

as far as the filters, IIRC, it comes with a clear plastic "filter", a blue filter, and a *RED* filter. this filter is probably pretty close in size to what you would want to use. if necessary, just trim it down a bit to fit the inside of the MyoXP flip-up diffuser. i'm sure that you'll figure out how to hold it in place.

i haven't tried this myself, so i don't know if this is a totally hair-brained idea. remember, i'm not only the President of "Bad Ideas R Us", but i'm also a customer!!.

Piece of the red tail light fix-it tape over the inside of the diffuser. Easily removable when you want to switch back.
