I think they are Surefire 6P's but all it says is Surefire. the bulbs in them are 6V Laser Products R60.

the batteries are shot so are the bulbs. Looking for ideas to make them into LED and use cr123's?

Thanks,
Scott

It's a Surefire 6R

Uses a NiCd B65 battery stick (rated at 4.8 volts), which is rechargeable. It will NOT use 3 123 size cells.

The R60 bulb has been discontinued, but a P60 will work fine.

Thanks Dano

If I put in a LED could I use it without the extension tube?

then could I use other batteries?

If you remove the A14 body extender you'll have a two-SF123A sized body and you can use the P60L LED Lamp Assembly.

Here is a photo of the 8NX, G2R and G2 to give you an idea of the sizes.

Note that you can use a Z29 battery spacer to power the G2R/6R from two SF123A batteries (although you can remove the AN14 body extender) - the Z29 was mostly intended for use with the 7Z CombatLight that did not have a body extender.

This photo shows the Z29 next to an SF123A battery so you can see how much longer the A14 is than one SF123A battery.

A14 is metal. AN14 is Nitrolon.

Ok, I didn't know about the rechargeable version.

As long as the LED drop-in is P60 compatible, then it should work as long as the battery voltage is within the working voltage of the driver.
