so over the weekend, I assembled a shed in the back yard. The down side is that this shed has a solid roof and no windows and is thus pretty dark. It is far enough away from the house that running electricity is not really practical. Are there any good battery-powered solutions out there ... the shed is 10'x10' with about 6' average height. I figure the equivalent of a 20-40 watt incandescent bulb would be sufficient in there.

Ideally, a solar rechargeable system would be great. Also, I dont see using the light very often so if the recharge takes a long time, that's fine.

Most LED products sold are not rated very well and usually are not floody so an apples to apples comparison becomes difficult.

Ideally I don't want to spend > $100 on the whole system.

I also thought of a DIY system where I can buy a solar panel, controller, a lead acid battery and wire it to some sort of emitter.

Let me know your thoughts. Thanks!

Welcome to CPF, Dr. Fiddler :)

I'll move your thread to the Fixed Lighting section.

Thanks for these suggestions. My biggest issue is the light rating of these lights. Typically, these lights are really dim.. would be awesome if there was something with like 3 - 5 cree or luxeon LED's or something in it for a nice bright light
