Need a new headlamp and small EDC. 2 tech criteria Good run times and reliable

My best light is a Malkoff HounDog. I have other lights from the past a 2AA Thrunight Archer and a Nitecore about same size

Prefer to buy American if possible. China would be last resort.


I will be using rechargable batteries as I've hade enough of leaking Duracells. Have several chargers

Like I said reliable and good run times.

I'd recommend a Malkoff 16650 for the EDC light, pic a multi or single mode depending on what you need.

Hmmm Headlamp I would almost say Zebralight and run an Eneloop, Surefire has a nice rechargeable headlamp but they seem costly.

Looks like Princeton Tec has most headlamp models made in USA

Was looking at Peak or Malkoff for the small light but Peak seems to be flaking out lately.

I forgot about Princeton, I didn't realize they were US made.

That's cool...

Guess you need to ask how are you going to operate the headlamp? Gloves on or not,
Will you have to change the battery(ies) in the dark.
