I am looking for a small bright light from streamlight. I am thinking about either the scorpion or the night fighter, could someone compare these two for me? Or maybe there is a different light i should be looking at. Thanks for the input.

Strion?

Most prefer the NF-2 over the Scorpion. They both use the same power source and the same bulb.

I believe the NF has a momentary push-on as opposed to the Scorps clickie. The Scorps rubber jacket helps to keep it in a pocket (which I prefer) but may make it harder to extract.

I prefer clickie switch so I like my Scorpion better than NF-2.
Your next choice is Strion if you can afford little more $ now and save a lot on batteries.
Good luck.

"Guilt free photons" (I don't know who came up with this line, but it's exactly how I feel about rechargeables)
I would go with the Streamlight Strion, if you feel that it's comparable to a stinger or scorpion?

Is the Strion's battery changeable or is it fixed in the light? Can I easily get spare rechargeable batteries for the Strion? I was asking this because I tend to use the light far from my home in some rural area and not having the ability to recharge the light, and the fact that Strion can't take CR123 makes me uncomfortable. I am usually out for a night and I figure if I could have 3 sets of batteries fully charged it should serve my need.

Thanks for all the advice. I like recharchables better than others because I usually have plenty of time to let them charge. However, pjandyho makes a good question. Can you get spare betteries for it in case you don't have time (or a place) to recharge? Also, size is one issue. I lready have a rechargeable tigerlight(minus the pepper spray). I want a smaller light that I can fit in a medium or large pocket. If that means regular batteries then I would take it over a large cumbersome rechargeable.

Yes, Strion batteries are changeable and will be available soon. Also you can buy extra Strion with battery (without chargers) to carry 2 fully charged flashlights.

My vote would also be for the Strion. I originally purchased one thinking I would play with it a little, take a few beamshots, and then pass it along. In the end: it hasn't left and has no plans to do so in the near future. The only change I would like to see is a slightly more textured reflector to smooth out some of the artifacts.
