Need flashlight for a gift

You guys really seem to know what you're talking about, so I couldn't think of any better place to come.

My sister is looking for a gift for my little brother (senior in high school) and I recommended she get him a GOOD flashlight since he doesn't have one. The budget is $30, give or take. If there's something out there that is miles ahead for $35, obviously it would be a better deal. We're looking at a price including shipping also.

What would you guys recommend in that price point? Let me know what other information I can provide to help you make a better recommendation.

I picked one up for myself since I need a good flashlight when working on cars at night and my weak 2-AA Energizer brand flashlight isn't cutting it. Looks impressive. Can't wait to try it out.

Budget headlamps aren't my thing; I'd go with one of the floody Zebralight models if you don't mind the ~$70 price tag. A single rechargeable AA will give you nearly a full eight hours at a just-right 50 lumens, and you can turn it much higher or much lower as needed.
