Need Help. 1 X D Mag Solution....

Hey all....

Wanting....nay, needing a new light fix. I want a 1 x D Cell Mag Package.

As far as my modding experience goes, I did the ROP to start, then did a LE ROP, then an 85, etc, etc, etc,

My latest endeavor was a P7 2 X D Cell running the 32650 Li Ions with Der's Driver..... Very nice package, and ended up being a Christmas present for my father in law.....

Ok, so here is the crux of my issue.

I want a 1 x D size package and need a little help on the best route to run. I want a decent, but not insane thrower. The P7 on a stock reflector is good throw for my needs, so similar.

I want to see what the brightest option, barring runtimes of 30 minutes or less, are that I can get out of a 1 x D cell size package. For comparison sake, my current thinking is either a single 32650 Li Ion DD'ing a p7, or something incan running 4 x 14500 Li Ions in a quad bore single D. Will the 14500's push some of Osram options, IE the 50 watters, etc. I am thinking mostly unprotected as I know the ampherage will throw the circuit for anything else. Of course, I would love a Minimini HID if anyone has one they are wanting to part with. I have something that I can't mention on here to trade if they do.......

A D-bin Seoul P7 on a H22A P7 heatsink with a TriFluPIC would give you a lot of light for the money using a 32650 Li Ion. It would also give you multiple light levels to extend runtime and spare your retinas.

I would have to agree. I'm going the AMC driver route, so that I can run my 1D off of a single D lithium-ion, C lithium-ion, 18650, 3 NiMH AAs, 4 NiMH AAs, etc.

EDIT: That and I only want a single mode.
