I have a good size light collection most of which I use outside. Because of that most of my lights are "larger" (at least 2x CR123, 18650, etc) or bigger and more to the thrower side of things. Off the top of my head I think I only have two single CR123a lights (A quark 123 regular, and a Nitecore SR3). I'm looking for something that I would like better then both of those. I like the Quark 123 but hate the reverse clicky. I would get a Quark tatical to get a forward clicky but don't like the Interface. Nitecore SR3 is nice but a but bulky to pocket (I like the tint better than the quark). This light will mostly be used indoors with outdoor use here and there.

What I'm looking for:

Forward clicky
single CR123a battery
3.5 Inches or less
1.5 Ounces or less (ideally)
ultra low moonlight mode (< 1 lumen)
decent high mode (ideally 200 lumens)
decently spaced middle modes
<$100

I know about the RA clicky and will most likely get one at some point to see what all the fuss is about but $180 for a small light seems a little much to me. I would like to stay under $100. I'm open to all price ranges from $10 to $100. I'm having trouble finding something and I'm sure a bunch of you can name 5 lights off the top of your heads that fit here.

The Zebralight SC30 costs $59 and meets all your requirements (except the forward clickie...not sure if the electronic switch counts)

How about Zebralight SC30.
Cool white or neutral.
Not a forward clicky but very good UI with 6 levels incl low-low.

The LiteFlux LF3XT will do everything you want, with the exception of only being around 120 lumens. Actually with RCR123's it might be close to 200.

I will second the EX10. If you loosen the head, the piston becomes a momentary switch, so almost a forward clicky.

How about a Dereelight C2H?

If you hunt the Marketplace, you might get lucky and find a NovaTac 120 E or P. Not exactly a clicky, but, actually, it's better. You should be able to find one for under $100.

Another option could be a used SureFire E1e with one of Kuku's 3 mode LED modules, which you might be able to put together for $100, if you get lucky in finding a used E1e. Though I don't think the low on these modules is moonlight level. For that, I think you will need to go with the NovaTac, aforementioned RA, or Quark Tactical, which is out of the running.

There are very few lights with <1lm and close to 200lm features. This will be your biggest stumbling block in your search.

I would get a Quark tatical to get a forward clicky but don't like the Interface. Nitecore SR3 is nice but a but bulky to pocket (I like the tint better than the quark).

Why not just order a forward clicky switch from 4Sevens for the Quark you already have?!?!? It's only $9.00 including shipping. You'd get to keep the current interface that you have (it's built into the head, not the switch) and you'll then have a forward clicky switch rather than the normal one.

In the Nitecore series, there's always the Infilux..... it looks pretty darn nice and was high on my list until I broke down and ordered a 170 lumen Exec Clicky..... I did a lot of humming and hawing about the Infilux and the HDS, but when Dan ( of Thor's Hammer Custom Leather) offered the *free* holster, custom made, with the first 20 orders of an HDS light on the CPFmarketplace, I couldn't resist. <sigh> For the record, he's got at least 10 freebies left at this point, but honestly, if it's just the forward clicky switch that you're looking for, get a new switch for 9 bucks from 4Sevens......

EX10/D10's... of all the lights I own and I have some great ones, the original Nitecore EX10 hasn't been de-throned yet as my EDC:party:

It's worth noting that HDS does offer an EDC Executive model for $99, but you would have to settle for "only" 120 lumen maximum output.

gunnerGG has it right. Zebralight SC30.

123 batteries, high 193lm, low .4lm $64.99. There is one on the marketplace for $50.

Funny I was just looking for something similar...

I was thinking about getting a Wolf Eyes Angel C or A for my brother in law who is a police officer.

Haven't seen it in person but the specs look good and I found a video (http://www.luxolite.com/blogs/resou...f-eyes-angel-c-a-great-compact-led-flashlight) that I can take with a grain of salt but looks very usable.

I have used another wolf eyes light and really liked it - seemed well built.

i know you already know about the HDS Clicky, but did you know you can get the 120 Lumen EDC executive for $99 ? Saves $15 shipping compared to hds

http://www.uniquetitanium.com/RA-EDC-120-Executive_p_63.html

that stays under your $100 budget and best bang for your buck! bet you wouldnt be able to tell the difference between 120 and 140 lumens and that saves you $40

EDIT: guess it doesnt meet your 200lumen max, but from HDS you KNOW its calibrated real lumens... other companies say 200 but that can be "emitter lumens" and vary greatly. If it was my $100 limit, thats where i would go!

EDIT again: oops missed Mountain mans post! Oh well, I second what he said too.

My 100 and 1% single 123 EDC is a SureFire E1e. I prefer incandescent bulbs, but I think a SF E1L, L1, or E1B would be great as well.

I have relaced the SF bulb with the LF HO E1A bulb.

I use this light several times a "day" as well as after dark. I carry it in my pocket ALL the time.

When I leave the house I also take my SF A2.
