Hey guys,

I carry a Fenix PD30 R5 with me on a daily basis right now but I'm looking to upgrade to something better in all regards (Throw, Spill, and Lumens) but still relatively compact with a pocket clip.

I've currently got several flashlights on my list and I need to narrow it down to one.

The list as it currently stands:

1. 4Sevens G5 Maelstrom
2. Fenix TK45
3. Olight M20S
4. Surefire 6PX Tactical

I believe there are a few that I'm forgetting off the top of my head.

New suggestions are also welcome.

My budget for this is ~$100.

Thank you in advance!

I use the search engine to research specifics , then buy a light based on the cumulative knowledge that I've gained after LOTS of reading.
Good luck with your search for your perfect light .

:)

If you like mostly flood with a bit of throw, can exceed your stated budget by 50%, and don't mind fumbling around with 8 AA batteries, get the TK45.

If you like strong throw with a decent amount of flood and the convenience of using a single 18650 rechargeable, get the G5.

The M20S doesn't have the throw of the G5 or the flood of the TK45, but is likely a little throwier than the TK45 and a little floodier than the G5, so you could consider it as sort of a 'tweener light in this context. It also sports a little different UI than most lights of this class which you can easily see demonstrated on YouTube.

The beam shape of the 6PX should be more akin to that of the M20S though with a reduced output.

INot a single light on your list meets your criteria. Th45 is too big to clip on your pocket, over your $100 limit and has no throw. The maelstrom is a little over your budget but will have less flood than your current light (you said you wanted more spill) but it does have a nice clip and a lot more throw than your current light. The m20s is middle of the road. A little bigger version of what you already have that will not be very much different. The 6px will be less than what you have. I think you may need to change your criteria or pick a different list of lights.
