Need help with a 4d mag mod

I want to drive a p7 at 3A.In a 4D mag.
Can you tell me what resistor to use? and how too wirer it plz.

We don't recommend resistors. Most people here use driver boards and you can find some from dealextreme.com as well as on the forums here.

For a p7 your going to want a voltage of 3.6v if your going to direct drive it. If not be sure to find a driver that supports up to 6v.

For 4 D NiMH batteries, I'd go with 0.56 ohms @ 5W. Connect it in series with either lead to the LED. Solder carefully and sleeve or shrink-wrap all exposed joints. Leave no bare wire.

But - once you have done this, don't ever put alkaline batteries in it. Not even once.
