Hello, i have been some what of a lurker for awhile and decided to make an account and get some advice on a flash light. I have learned that there is a VAST world of possible choices that i never knew of when it comes to flashlights, this will also be my first post! I have used my maglite xl50 for a long time and i think its about time to upgrade from being abused so much in it short life. im looking for a flashlight that is LED battery wise i had no idea there were so many different battery options nowadays..if you could recommend me a battery(i have read into the 18650 and similar but dont know a lot about them so that would be helpful). Im not a fan of the Cr123a i like rechargeable batteries as i use NIMH AA, and AAA batteries currently. From lurking i have been looking into the eagle tac lights and 4sevens to name a couple brands. I would like to stick to about the same size maybe a little longer/bigger than my current XL50 because i use it for just about everything working on the car, around the house, and outside for various things. Im looking for somewhat of a EDC but not that i would carry it all the time so a medium sized i guess would decscribe how big id like. So far from eagle tac i like the P series and the D series but i dont want a very small flashlight, also have been looking into Niteye, 4seven, and nitecore but im not too sure which are better choices.
