I am looking for a 2 stage switch for my L4. I am not quite sure what works on the L4 from the sandwich shoppe. I want to make sure I order the right switch and it seems like there are a few different options. My L4 is HA natural finish.

I have an extra "standard" L4 tailcap I could use as a host.

Also looking for a tail cap where I can stand the light on end.

Thanks for your help

I have been reading through all the old posts on converting an L4 switch but still have a few questions if anyone can help out.

I guess I need the McE2S DIY kit from the sandwich shoppe for the basic guts of the switch. Then I need a tailcap to house the switch in.

I have the standard tailcap that came with my L4. I'm not sure what it is, but from looking at the SF website, it looks like a Z57. In the old posts, it says the McE2S DIY was designed for a Z52 tailcap, and that putting it in a Z57 is a major pain.

So, what is invovled with putting the McE2S DIY in a Z57 tailcap? Is the Z57 the standard tailcap for the L4?

Thanks.

Just a thought, maybe you should put out a WTB thread in the Custom BST area for a two stage McE2s tail cap with a two stage switch. I use one of these on my L4 and it works flawlessly.

No dremeling needed to install a MCE2S in a Z57 tailcap. I had mine installed there for a while, but found the switching was smoother in a Z52. The rubber doesn't have to be replaced with a Z57, but if you don't it leaves a bit of takeup on the press before the switch activates.

This one is a direct replacement.

Choose your own resistor value and your set to go.

Its Ha Nat aswell, but the color could be a bit off depending on your Lights color. It is also very shiny compared to the Surefire Nat.

Oh! Really? I learned a 2 stage switch make L4 prefect, but knowing that it is out of stock for long. If it is a real repacement, then I have to save $$

Thanks for the solutions. I tried the "Trublue" resistor mod, but it didn't work too well. Probably the result of my soldering. I didn't want to sacrifice another tailcap to try again. I am giong to have Milky do a few mods for me into some Z57 tailcaps I have. Thanks all.
