FOR DIY BIKE LIGHT ?

I saw these DB-100 light at a finnish webstore and found out that they were quite cheap, 35 euros a pair.

Would this be a good housing for SSC P7 and heatsink, KD reflector +driver? Measurements are quite near to Maglite so the reflector would fit quite well? I suppose it's made in China. Maybe it's waterproof, maybe not?

Do you have any other proposals for DIY SSC P7 bike light housing ?

Well assuming your talking about the top one it looks smart. Size is quite large so if you can get a good reflector things could be good. The curved shape may mean that getting the heat from the led to the case may be tricky. You realy need to take one to bits to be able to tell how things are going to work out.....

So I ordered few DB100 worklights to be modded.

According to the measurements given on the webpage the DX M@g reflector should fit just perfectly to the housing of the light. And still there would be quite alot room for the heatsink construction?

All in all this would be quite a RETRO-looking bike light? Time will tell!

If You 'd have followed the actually "standard" DIY guide, You would have purchased a P7/MC-E light from DX and used just the head of it.

Same price, better looking, already "ready" (except end plate and the wire to battery) so much less work than adapting a non perfect housing.
