I have assembled my first mag mod, an SST50 on a britelumens heatsink, h6 flex driver powered by two 18650's. I used 24 gauge Teflon wire for all connections, the longest being 3 inches from the switch to the driver. My question is did I use too small gauge of wire, and if I did how badly will it effect the light's performance. The driver is set at 5 amps output. Thanks for the input

I use 24 gauge for my 10 watt 2.8 amp P7 LED's. That seems to work just fine. Couldn't 22 gauge fit in the britelumens heatsink holes? Its best to use the thickest wire possible without it being to bit to not go into the hole.

When wiring up the h6Flex, you need to wire it from the battery to the board, from the board to the LED, and from the power switch to the board. The current flowing through the wires from the switch to the board isn't high enough to require heavy gauge wires so that is okay. The wires connecting the board to the batteries and to the LED should be heavier gauge. In a few cases, where I've needed a heavier gauge wire but didn't have any on hand I would double up on the thinner gauge wire. In the case of bigchelis' direct-drive SSR-90 I ran four 24g wires in parallel instead of a single larger gauge wire. This was because I didn't want to cut a deeper groove into the side of the massive heatsink that I used.
