I have spent a bit of time here reading but its a lot of info to consume.

I bought a spear and an zebra h60. Both use the 18650 battery. Do I buy the nipple top battery or the flat positive? Do I buy the AW, tenergy or the ultrafire. I see protected and non-protected. Im sure I want protected right?
I also see 2400ma and 2600ma.

Am I missing anything? Where can I buy them quick? Im in California and cant try either one of my lights until I get these batteries. No one carries them locally. I checked several electronic stores and they did not even know what 18650 was. Bummer........

Welcome. Get AW cells here. These types of cells are not typically available in stores. AW cells are very popular aound here and they perform well. The WF139 charger mentioned in the sales thread is ok to start with but down the road you may want to invest in a charger that terminates at a safe voltage such as the Pila IBC charger. I also recommend getting a digital multimeter as well so you can tell how much your batteries have discharged. It's actually better for the cells to charge them frequently and not let them get fully or almost fully discharged. Get the nipple top batteries. The flat top ones sometimes require a tiny magnets to make contact inside the lights. The problem is they can become dislodged and if it moves just right it may cause a short. Protected cells are recommended especially if you are new to using lithium ion batteries.

Ugghhh...... AW's come from Hong Kong? Is there a local USA dealer? The thought of waiting 3 weeks is not a good one.

With all due respect, you should have thought of that before buying the lights... :shakehead

I was very tempted to give you a rude reply to your first post, and I am even more tempted now :duh2:

Lighthound (http://www.lighthound.com/) and 4sevens (https://www.4sevens.com/) stock some of AW's sizes. You can try and see if they currently have stock.
