I am looking for a headlamp that would be suitable for bowfishing. Anyone use one for this application? There is a lot of options and I am trying to learn as much as possible in short order. Thanks.
Are you gonna be using it for lighting the fish up while your shooting at it? Not sure if it's legal were you are but a 6P with an R2 drop-in attached to a stabalizer would be about perfect for the shooting part. Any good quality headlamp could handle the rest of your non-shooting needs. The Rebel EOS is always a nice light weight headlamp to use while night fishing. I would also mess around with filters and see if there is a certain color that doesn't spook the type of fish your arrowing. I've screwed around with my 6P attached to the stabalizer of my compound before and could hold tight groups out to 30 yards when it's pitch-black.

Do you think you will need more throw or flood when bowfishing? Seems like flood might be most important. If so the EOS II or a Zebralight. I would definitely get a light that is regulated. If you want good flood and throw and don't mind a battery pack on the back of your head I would use a Princeton Tec Apex 130 lumen. Use Energizer Lithium E2 and get some good extra runtime with the Princeton Tec lights.
If you mean to walk around with, see what you are doing etc. then you may be happy with many different lights.
However, if you meen to light up your target in the dark, forget about it. I think you would need to submerge the light or all you would see is the surface of the water reflecting back at you.
