Hi all,

I am new to this forum and have enjoyed looking around. If you are familiar with my videos then you know I have done a couple of pretty successful laser videos and have also taken the heat before about not using a driver circuit for the diode. Well, I have a new video that I wanted to share and get your thoughts. It was fun to make and I did it just in time for 007's new flick.

I hope to spend alot more time around here and get to know some the 'makers'

Thanks,

Kip

It wasn't really CPF giving you the heat, more me and the guys at LPF. That video probably busted a lot of some noob's diodes, dude. =P

Good thing you used the PHR-803t sled, but did you have to keep referring to it as 'blue'? It's 405nm! That's below violet and bordering on UV.

I enjoyed the video though. Keep laserin'.

Wow, the highly exalted Kipkay has joined our ranks...it's about time haha. I've got my burning lazer AA mag around here somewhere.

Welcome aboard!

Yea, it was a pretty fun exchange because when we (me and my bench tech friend) tested out the red diode initially we decided to run it direct and it worked fine. In fact, it still works to this day with no driver. But I understand how they can be blown in an instant without one.

The whole "blu" thing is kind of a play on words. It actually looks blue in color and while it is technically NOT a blu-ray diode, using that term I thought would make the biggest 'bang'.

Thanks for your comments. I will post it over on LPF when I get a chance.
