Georget sent me his .pub file and asked me to tweak the reference card a bit and then save it as a PDF for better quality printing.

So without further ado... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/cool.gif

click me

Much better! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

A couple things I noticed, though. (No error by jpeg, just possible changes for the original)

- reading through it for the first time in a couple weeks I wonder if Secondary should be used instead of Alternate to be consistent with the other documentation. I chose alternate because I wanted to avoid showing it as Primary to Secondary then needing a second line for Secondary to Primary. Maybe there's room or maybe Alternate was a good idea after all /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thinking.gif

- apparently the error flash goes 3 times

- how about "press and hold until accept flash stops to set/toggle selected option/brightness

- on the brightness menu side the bulleted items don't seem to belong to the "click and hold" instructions above.

Looks like I'm trying to micro-improve this thing until it makes no sense at all /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

1)I used alternate because I could abbreviate it... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif Honestly, I like the wording because it implys that wherever you are, you can get to the other setting by double clicking.

2)Error flashes 3 times? Cool, look there's room for it... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

3) How about we print these on index cards and not business cards /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

4)I can tighten the space on the bullets.

I actually made some micro adjustments after the current design, but came to the same "micro-improving" conclusion and left it all as it was.

I can tweak things a bit more, but unless I hear of people really using this thing, I'm probably gonna just sit on it for a couple of weeks... If anyone wants to tweak it further I have it saved as an .ai file, and will email it out if you PM me...

That's sort of helpful but there should really be a COMPLETE guide as a one page (8.5x11) pdf file. Or maybe it could be a little booklet, like 8 pages business card sized.

Paul, I agree that a full page instruction diagram/flowchart would be another useful tool to help people learn the ARC4. I don't believe that is what George was trying to create here though.

This is sort of a "once you've read the manual" kind of thing, to keep you on track while you're getting to know the light in the field. Business card size is easier to carry in a wallet than a full size sheet of paper or a booklet.

I can provide an 8.5 x 11 version if you think that would be useful.

yeah... Unfortunately, I believe it is ONLY on-line, and it's a bit of a maze to find it...

The link to the advanced menus is here

and it can be found (along with a lot of other useful links) about 3/4 of the way down the Arc Flashlight FAQ tacked to the top of the Arc forum.

Thanks! Your reference card is a lot of help. I've finnaly got the hang of this thing /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I know this is an old thread but I'd really like to get my hands on that .pdf version of the Arc 4 reference and that link is no longer working. Any one still have this?

I think this is what you are looking for, though in .gif format.

You can also find a well thougt out chart by Bon here .

I also have a copy of the PDF, as well as the instruction media files. If you need them PM me with your address.

Thanks - the .pdf that jpeg had was what I was looking for - the link just changed a bit from what was originally in this thread. The .gif files can't be sized down very well without losing a lot of resolution. I printed the .pdf files on waterproof paper and printed a second copy or regular paper then laminated it. Here is the current link: PdfLink
