New Beamshots Section Added To My Review Site

Hi,

I had a request for some beamshots of the lights I review.
I wanted to show a direct comparison between lights of a similar output and this is my first attempt.

Yes standard VIP head, I will hopefully get a Bulkhead in the next couple of weeks. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/popcorn.gif

If anyone want's a copy of the Test Target and they have Acad Lt 2000 or better. Send me a PM with your email and I can send you it. You will need an A1 or better plotter to print it full size though.

I just ordered myself an exact equivilent of a LM631 light meter. So hopefully next week I can add the Lux ratings for all the lights as well.

Looks like you converted some of them to B/W? For color correction?

Thanks for the comments.

All pics are taken in RAW mode then converted with Canon DPP (Digital Photo Professional) Software.

This does allow colour correction, but in this case none has been applied, so we should be seeing the differences in colour that the camera sees between the different lights.
I think that is why all the Nichas look blue and the Tigerlight and A2 go yellow.

I am going to have to recalibrate the settings for the 5mm Nicha powered lights as they hardly show up on the pics. Also the Tigerlight is off the scale and overexposed.

I think the used settings are optimised for the 1-5Watt Luxeon lights. Which is mainly the area I am interested in at the moment. I'll see what I end up buying over the next few weeks and will look at producing some lower power beamshots.

You have three full power VIP shots. One says VIP Full Power, and is not as bright as next two full power Vip shots.???

Yes the first VIP Full Power shot is with the standard head and CR123 pack. I will update it to make this clearer.

Oops. Just realised I had not marked the new shots with Bulkhead. Thanks for the pointer. This is now fixed.

I think this shows that the Bulkhead makes a HUGE difference.
