Not sure if this has ever been reported before, but my older 0F model has a failed slot. I was charging some ROV AAA cells at 600ma, monitoring the charging process beause these cells had missed terminating properly on a newer 0H model. After about 5 minutes into the charge cycle, the first slot gave me some strange reading: 125 ma, 0 mha and 0.0 volts! All other slots were behaving properly. I removed the cells and noticed that removing the cell from slot 1 did nothing (it was still charging with an empty slot). I unplugged, then replugged the unit back in; immediately it prompted me to select a mode for slot 1.

The other slots are working normally... weird.

I had a similar problem with an 0H unit a month ago.. I had three AA's halfway through on break-in in slots 1-3, I decided to start another AA in slot 4 when the whole thing reset. At this point, before pulling out all the batteries, it showed it was charging slot 1 at 125ma, 0V, with no gain in mah.

After taking out all 4 batteries and unplugging/re-plugging the unit in, slot one still showed it was charging at 125ma - even though it was empty! At least, I'm pretty sure it was 125 - it could have been 150, though - can't remember..

No matter what I did, it would always show it was charging that empty slot.
I ended up calling Maha and they sent me a new unit right away and said to ship the old one back in the same box - giving me a prepaid return shipping label.

I was doing a TON of break-ins at the time, so I decided to 'keep' both for about a week longer, giving me 7 slots to work with for a while there. It kinda made it worth the unit breaking down when it did. :sssh:

Definitely strange.:tinfoil:

I should also add that I tried to put a AAA in that slot to see what would happen, and after a while it started getting warm.

Meaning that in fact, it was actually putting a charge to that slot, and since it got warm even at a 'supposed' 125ma, I think it was more than that. If it was at a true 125ma, I don't think it would have gotten that warm - no matter how long it was on there for.

I tried searching this forum for a similar problem, but came up empty.

Has nobody else encountered this and/or heard of it??
