Well, I was in my local dollar/discount store. They occassionally have fresh Panasonic or Sanyo 123's, for $6.99 CAN or so.

That's a pretty good deal, because I don't use too many of them. (less than 1 per 2 months)

It's better to buy 'em one-sie twosie at a bit more and gt "fresh" I say.

Anyhow. If you guys know the "Chateau" line of stuff in these stores (CR2016's and such), they're okay for an occassional use-photon and such...

Well, Chateau now has CR123's!

And... $5 CAN each.

Keep an eye out. Chateau's packaging is Grey/black/blue. Usually behind the counter (too easy to scoop)

I've seen Maxell CR123's go for $11 CAN, and I've never seen cheaper...

Again, you bulk buyers are probably laughing, but people in Hamilton Ontario can get 'em at Dollar Discount, on Barton in Hamilton.

I have the wholesaler's name around here somewhere, if you are interested.

X5 - In the car, with 2 spares

Photon 2 - White - On Keychain

Arc AAA - Bedside, and in travel kit.

I can't wait to see what else Arc comes out with.

What's the opinion on Energizer 123's? The stores where I live have them at the equivalent of USD2.50 (around $4 Canadian?). Is this a good price? Bit of a moot point, as I do not yet own a flashlight that uses 123's

How many come in a can, or what the heck is a can. Is it a container? Like a dozen eggs, a can of CR123's is a dozen or what? $6.99 / dozen 123's is a good deal though I got lucky and got them cheaper.

CAN = Canadian currency. Almost like real dollars, but farther North.

Yes, but they also only produce 3 Canadian Volts and have a 1300 Canadian mAH capacity. At the current exchange rate, that figures to 1.9V, 821.5mAH here in the US. Not sure if cells like that would be particularly useful...

I don't understand why they charge so much for 123A in North America. Panasonic 123 only cost me US$1.3 each here in Hong Kong.

I would assume it's supply and demand. Before I bought my first SF light, I would probably use one DL123 a year. Now I burn through at least 20 per week. Like those odd ball "N" size, no one really buys them on a regular basis. Or at least not enough of us. I'm sure if they sold as much as AA's the price would drop. It's coming down slowly I've noticed through the years even though Cameras now usually use the CR2 batts.

Ha, that would be funny. Lithium car.

I burn through batts mainly on the M6 and M3. I only use the first 5-10 minutes with the HOLA so you can imagine how fast you can eat through 20 batteries. At least once a week I run down to the county's "killhouse" and run some low light drills. I'm down to about 700 DL123's, 100 E2 CR123's and a couple dozen SF123's. Might actually be able to run a car off of all those.
