Just thought I'd let you folks know about this bulb I found that could be useful with two of AW's protected C cells (or maybe 18650's?) It's an inexpensive 25W, 6V, G4 bi-pin bulb available here. Should be under 5 amps, so I don't think it will trip the protection on those cells. Searching yielded nothing, but if you've used them let me know. Could be a good for a 2C mag?

I have some, but I ordered the wrong size FM bi-pin base, so I don't know what I'm going to do with them.

I don't think 2x18650's will fit in a 2C mag very easily. As it is a very tight fit in a 2D mag. You usually need to cut down the tail spring.

Two 18650s will fit a 2C Mag using this mod:
1) Deanodize the inside of the tailcap
2) Set aside the stock 2C spring
3) Place Minimag spring in the tailcap
4) Put back together

For a permanent fix the AA spring could be attached with conductive epoxy, but this method is completely reversible and requires nothing more that what most will have on hand anyway.

Bulb life spec is missing. I'm going to assume it's a "2000" hour style long-life bulb, but it might not be, until we know this, there is no way to know if it's worth running on a pair of li-ion cells. The bulbs we get good results from on 2 li-ion cells are generally rated 6V 50-200 hours life. If this bulb you found is in fact, a more normal "long life" then it would be dismally yellow and inefficient on 2 li-ion cells compared with the proven alternatives.

Very useful information, thanks. I'm working on giving a couple away for testing.
