Re: New Guy

Hi Phil,
Welcome to CPF and nice find on the Strion!
I haven't heard anything about this light yet but it sure looks good. Depending on price, it could be excellent competition for the Pila G2 lights.

Re: New Guy

Welcome to CPF.

that sounds like an awesome new light from Streamlight. rechargeable via lithium ion battery, 12,000 candlepower, 70 minutes runtime, 5.3 inches long?
that sounds super.

Re: New Guy

Hey there Phil, Welcome to CPF! Geez, looks like you're starting off on the heavy stuff already huh? Nice find on the Strion!! BTW, did anyone else notice that the title (top header) on the specifications page of the Strion says 'Agro Luxeon', but the bulb is a Xenon incan? Wonder what Agro Luxeon means?? Hmm...

Re: New Guy

Welcome, Phil. I hadn't seen that Streamlight yet, but it looks like a nice little light. I wonder how much that little guy's gonna cost?

Re: New Guy

That new light should be Very interesting.

Streamlight lists the candlepower at nearly double the SL Scorpion (6,500 c.p.), a well respected player.

Re: New Guy

Welcome Phil. I sure hope these new lights aren't out yet, as I have already blown my budget for awhile. Thanks for bringing that up though.

Re: New Guy

CHICAGO, if you'd edit your post title to include the new light name, or something of that nature, you'd get more interest.

Re: New Guy

The "Agro Luxeon" is the "Argo Luxeon Headlamp," a different product than the Strion (has a 1w Luxeon Star, 3 levels).

Ahh... now I see... surfing thru their site a little further and I found the actual Agro Luxeon... looks like there was a glitch on the Strion page... Thanks Nisshin!

Re: New Guy

Welcome to CPF! Nice start. Warning: CPF is hazardous to your finances from far too many flashlight purchases. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

We do, however, end up with a nice collection of useful lighting tools.

One thing you will notice about us, though we are a wee bit wacky, is that we are a friendly bunch of people. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Re: New Guy

Ohhh, nice mod potential there, looks perfect for Lux-3 direct drive, in a body designed for 18650's! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/smile.gif I wonder how they have the protection circuitry set up? Hmmm....

Re: New Guy

Welcome Phil.

I like that Strion. I had no idea Stingers were made back in 93'. I think it's time to retire my old Stinger from everyday work use for a Strion. Well my Stinger is gonna go through a 6v mod soon so I think the Strion will be my new on the job light.

Thanks

Welcome aboard, Phil! /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif

Now that you`re officially a CPF`er...may God have mercy on your soul. /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/rolleyes.gif

(You soon understand that statement, when you buy one particular flashlight...and then this one...and then that one...and then, of course, both of those...and WOW, look at these...and boy, I really need this one...and................!)

Enjoy yourself...

Re: New Guy

Wow...a Li-Ion powered Streamlight. With SL's infrastructure as well as very steep usage base, this light will be the next "big thing."

With this model, Streamlight has blown the doors open, and pretty much eliminated the competition in the LEO rechargeable light market (not that SL had much competition in that area to begin with).

Re: New Guy

Welcome to CandlePowerForums, CHICAGORADIOSPY.

I want to echo "good find" on the Strion. Cool first post. I think you get extra style points for this one. I hope SL gets the Strion out on the market quickly for several reasons.

Have fun.

Excellent topic edit. I hope you don't mind that I rolled it into this Re:.

Thank you.

This is awesome to see SL moving ahead with their rechargables. I've been waiting. Now they need to do away with NiCad all together for their other lines and use just NiMh or LiOn, or combination.

According to their site is 80 lumens, Glass lens, Adjustable beam, spare bulb in base, SF style momentary and twist for on, apparently it can stand on its tail, you don't need to take the battery out to recharge...I think SL has another winner here.

BTW Welcome Chicagoradiospy, you are starting with your right foot forward /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/thumbsup.gif
