I just opened the latest Mouser catalog #617, Feb-Apr 2004. On page 48 is an LED product that I was previously unaware of: Lamina LED light engines. Not exactly EDC flashlight sources but interesting. The models include a White multiple emitter package 1.05X1.25" with a typical output of 567 lumens.

The red and amber ones are surely the first 100W LEDs I have ever seen. Wow!

That's a _lot_ of power to pump through a postage stamp.

Already asking for a sample for review. I have GOT to check out this monster...

10.5VDC @ 2.34A, 24.57W drive, 567 LUMENS NOMINAL. From a 1.25" x 1.05" package.

It's a Lambertian beam according to the spec sheets, which should work nicely with a variety of reflectors but won't work for crap with a collimator optic. Unless, that is, Fraen comes up with something incredible... /ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I'll post word if I get a positive response from the company...

If you do a search here for LAMINA by user UNCLEARTY, you'll see that I got a couple of these chips and submitted pics as well.

I remember that post. They looked DAMNED bright, and if my memory doesnt fail me, you had one stuck to a CPU heatsink...

Correct..I'm currently using the green one in a cheap TapLight in my hallway. 4 AA's with resistor driving one chip as a night light in a dark hallway. I use NiMh..runs for about 2 weeks every night..all night. Very impressive. I tried to get a white one from the rep..no luck. By the way...the red one's even brighter.
