New light

Interesting light. Description is poor. It's the first 2x18650 light I've seen that doesn't have the batteries configured end to end in an extension tube. If it had two emitters, I would be all over it.

But there are a few drawbacks that will prevent me from buying it.

Paralllel batteries means to low voltage for good current regulation,
and 6 hours from two 1865-batteries means less then 500 lumens in theory.
In practice much less.

They quote 2 A on high, or about 630 lumens OTF. The runtime cited suggests about 1.2 A average with the highest capacity 18650s. 400 lumens OTF would be about right with losses. One spec or the other is wrong. I suspect it has about a 1.5-2 hour runtime on high at 2 A then the LED falls out of regulation when the battery is within say, 0.7 volts of the LED Vf which would be about 3.8 volts or so, and they count all the way from there as the power output drops until the batteries are dead or the LED stops and current flow is 0. That could average about 1.1-1.2 A over 6 hours. If it was regulated the whole time, about 3 hours runtime @ 2 A with the best cells, about 2.5 hours with 2.5 Ahr ones.
