New from Photon, the X-Light is designed as a low cost keychain light for those looking for an inexpensive lighting solution. Cheap enough for every keychain

The X-Light features constant-on lighting - press once to turn on, once again to turn off.

Body colors may vary. All lights have a white LED.

Switch is like a PocketBright, but it looks like it's smaller in size. Nice. Looks like the LED is recessed as well. I wonder if it's waterproof? There's no info on their website - I wonder if it's really from LRI or if it's a knockoff using their name!

Plus the X on the switch looks a AWFUL lot like the Handspring logo - possible legal problem there.....

The spec table on the web site says not waterproof. The whole thing looks suspicious to me. That would be a significant price drop for a true Photon Micro-Light. But, glad to see honesty in the specs...says runtime is 5+ hrs. That's a more realistic number than the ususal statement of what, 14 hrs?

IMHO, that makes it even more suspicious. Why would LRI change their statement about runtime to conflict with all their other similar products - doesn't make sense.

One Stop Knife Shop is usually pretty helpful and honorablw in their dealings. Someone interested could even call and ask some questions.

According to the page, it isn't waterproof or even water resistant. I'd keep this one on a keyring that isn't exposed, such as in a briefcase or purse.

What is this handspring thing? A competing flashlight I haven't heard about yet? If I haven't heard of it, then maybe LRI hasn't either. I doubt they'd steal another light's logo intentionally.

I know... I know... RTFP (Read the Frickin' Page), Quickbeam! I should have caught that about the "waterproofness" in the description...

The Handspring is a type of Palm Pilot. I guess the logo's aren't that close after looking at it again, but they're similar.

I doubt they'll make a fuss about it.

Yeah, that is different enough that one can't confuse the maker of a flashlight with the maker of a palm pilot type computer.

That would have been the basis of any possible action.

I wonder if Handspring ordered a bunch for giveaways but wasn't happy with the rendering of their logo. So, maybe LRI sold them at cost to this dealer.

This light is not listed on the LRI website. Is it a LRI product? 1sks says it is a LRI product. Is 1sks wrong?

I got some info on this from a retailer friend..... it is from LRI - they achived the price from their Chinese friends who make it. It is a price game.

Well... Open mouth, insert foot.... Here's the real deal from Bryan Avery himself:

Yes, it is. The X-Light has been designed for the ASI market (private
labeled promotional items for give-aways, etc.).
