Hey Guys, i'm a member of a few other forums which you all may visit, but i decided to join here as well. Anyways, i just bought myself a 2AA Mini Maglite in camo. Today I purchased a TerraLUX TLE-5EX and a Nite Ize IQ switch. I'm trying to get a bright, but carryable flashlight together for EDC. Did i make a good decision? I looked at the LED versions of the min maglite but they just didn't hit the spot. I spent a total of 45$ for all of this. Bought the mini maglite at an outdoors store i buy some of my production knives at, and got the other two online after some deal searching. 15$ for the flashlight, 25$ for the LED upgrade and 5$ for the IQ switch. Comment away and scold or commend me!

:welcome: If you hang around here long, you'll have spent 10X that on new lights over the next few months. Sounds like a nice little combo to introduce you to the world of LEDs and modifying lights. Your thread is probably going to get moved since you are talking about LEDs, but there is lots of great info here in the incan forum if you want to mod bigger maglites. Have fun!

I figured but i thought since it wasnt tranformed yet i'd post here lol. So is there anything in need to know about this setup or anything that can go wrong later on? Any knowledge you can add to this will help me out a ton on understanding.

I also think that your thread must be moved to LED forum.
My question is, why didn't you already buy a LED light instead mod a minimag? There are many LED lights options as good as this!

:welcome:

Cheers

Well, i bought the minimag on an impulse buy. I had 20$ on me and decided to just get it, i like maglites and knew i could upgrade it if i wanted to. I wasn't aware of the crazy mods until i came here though. No credit card for online purchase so i was stuck to instore buys and everything i could get my hands on was over priced. I've read that it overheats and flickers and stuff, can you elaborate and is there a fix or is it inevitable?

I bought a camo mini-mag recently because I had lost my last mini-mag over the years and wanted a replacement. I liked the matte camo paint job, it feels pretty cool in the hand.
